Kinja'd!!!

Its not me its you. (Political nonsense after the jump, proceed with caution.)

It’s me again, GOP, your old friend Tony. Look we’ve had some good times together. We met when I was a young man, it was coming up on Y2K and it was a crazy time for everyone.

I liked your ideas of personal freedom, lower taxes and a strong military. I also grew up in the right wing stronghold of San Francisco (sarcasm).

What happened to you? You preach fiscal sense but you spend out money like it’s going out of style. All of this bull about “conservative values” really doesn’t do it for me. I don’t care what people want to wear or what they believe, and we should be defending that right instead of alienating them.

This has all gotten way out of hand. Until you get your head together and stop seeing crazy people we need to go on a break.

Sincerely,

Tony.

If I have to see another Trump or Bernie meme, I’ll probably vomit. Much like the dog that’s staying with me after he gets into the potato chips.

Who is the candidate to vote for then?

There’s too many ayn rand acolytes for my taste. Plus I haven’t heard a solution to corporate influence from a smaller weaker central government. When corporate interests figuratively owned the government in the late 19th century it was an awful time for the everyday person.

Only if people continue to vote for candidates they don’t believe in for parties they no longer support.

https://www.lp.org/candidates/pre…

There are the candidates, I’m hoping Gary Johnson is the nominee again, the Libertarians select their candidate without primary elections, the party makes the pick.

If they really, really want to be serious I think they need to get on with primary voting so the candidates names are right there with the front runners from the Dems and Reps.

Libertarian party candidate will be on all 50 states presidential ballots this year. Gary Johnson got more votes then any other 3rd party ever last presidential election.

I kinda like Gary Johnson, but then again I’m a registered democrat, so take that as you will. Google “libertarian candidate 2016" and you’ll see there’s a whole bunch of candidates.

Btw, if you’re not on the Trump/Cruz bandwagon, you should vote Kasich in the primary. If Trump gets deprived of enough votes it could force a brokered convention that at least opens the possibility of a moderate candidate getting the nomination.

No party is perfect and I agree I’d like that to not happen.

Hopefully Johnson will come up with a plan for those situations. Corporate interests effect our government too much as it is.

They’re a little too far out there for me. I believe in public schools and libraries, and I’m not on board with legalizing all drugs.

Conservative used to refer to a literal, constructionist interpretation of the constitution, now it means, “The 2nd amendment is really important, but I forget the other 25"

I’ve been growing ever frustrated with the party since the surge/influx of the neo-cons.

I can’t agree with everything libertarian, so I can’t get fully behind them. At the heart of it I am still conservative, but I get really out of joint when the local GOP chapters fight a non-Christian religious center over “traffic concerns.”

A brokered convention will have a twofold result of simultaneously killing the party (maybe a good thing) and splitting the vote in a Ross Perotian manner since Trump will run independent.

I’ll be honest, if the democrat party had a better view on the second amendment I’d probably vote that way.

True, but the party’s so unbelievably messed up right now that there’s no way an establishment candidate could win the general election. Unfortunately you’re in the position where you can either join the mob or split the vote. Gotta pick the lesser of two evils, whatever that is to you.

I don’t think this general election is going to be as clear cut as an easy democrat win. Still a lot of things in the mix.

I’m in the same boat. You can call me a social libertarian and a fiscal conservative. I keep getting calls from the GOP to donate money. I tell them point blank that I stopped donating when they stopped being conservatives. They extol me with the dangers of having a democrat win again, and I let them have it with “what difference does it make what letter is after the name if they’re all progressive liberals?” Click. Cool, maybe I’ll stop getting calls now.

It’s all about finding a balance on those topics. And they can say whatever they want about some of those topics, they would need to make it through more than just the Oval Office for anything to change.

And if those are the only 3 complaints I have with their platform I like a lot more that they have to say than the other 2 main parties.

No, I don’t think Hillary’s an especially strong candidate. I think a conservative candidate could win. But I don’t think this is a year for the John McCain and Mitt Romney types.
